Les caract\u00e9ristiques g\u00e9n\u00e9rales de la l\u00e9piote d\u00e9guenill\u00e9e sont les m\u00eames que celles d\u00e9crites pour la l\u00e9piote \u00e9lev\u00e9e, afin de bien les distinguer des amanites toxiques ou mortelles. Elle se diff\u00e9rencie de la l\u00e9piote \u00e9lev\u00e9e par les \u00e9cailles du chapeau qui sont plus grosses et non dispos\u00e9es de fa\u00e7on concentrique, par sa forme plus trapue et par son habitat plus riche en mati\u00e8res organiques d\u2019origine animale et en compost. Il fructifie souvent en cercles de f\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Sa chair a tendance \u00e0 devenir blanc orang\u00e9 ou rouss\u00e2tre \u00e0 la cassure; ce qui s\u2019observe mieux en coupant le pied. Certaines personnes sont allergiques \u00e0 ce champignon. Lorsqu\u2019on le mange pour la premi\u00e8re fois, on devrait y aller de fa\u00e7on mod\u00e9r\u00e9e, comme ce devrait \u00eatre le cas pour tous les nouveaux champignons que l\u2019on consomme.<\/p>\n

Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un excellent comestible d\u00e9gageant une odeur agr\u00e9able. On aurait avantage \u00e0 multiplier les talles partout o\u00f9 la mati\u00e8re organique abonde. Si on entretient les colonies en ajoutant du mat\u00e9riel organique au d\u00e9but de chaque printemps, cette l\u00e9piote fructifiera de fa\u00e7on constante ann\u00e9e apr\u00e8s ann\u00e9e si les conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9o sont favorables.<\/p>\n
