Elle fructifie dans les bois de conif\u00e8res ou dans les for\u00eats mixtes, souvent sur un tapis de mousse *<span class=\"champ-numero\">1*<\/span> *<span class=\"champ-numero\">5*<\/span>, en fin d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 et en d\u00e9but d\u2019automne.<\/p>\n<p>Sous le tapis de mousse, on d\u00e9couvre le\u00a0 myc\u00e9lium blanc\u00a0 de la chanterelle qui tapisse le parterre forestier *<span class=\"champ-numero\">3*<\/span>\u00a0et on constate que son pied est bulbeux. Dans cette for\u00eat mixte d\u2019\u00e9pinettes blanches, de sapins et de feuillus, le myc\u00e9lium de ce champignon couvrait une surface de plus de cent cinquante m\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Les tr\u00e8s jeunes fructifications pourraient \u00eatre confondues avec celles de la clavaire en massue *<span class=\"champ-numero\">4*<\/span> *<span class=\"champ-numero\">5*<\/span>. Tr\u00e8s rapidement on constate qu\u2019elles se d\u00e9veloppent en forme de c\u00f4ne invers\u00e9 et le dessus du chapeau prend la forme d\u2019un entonnoir \u00e9vas\u00e9 *<span class=\"champ-numero\">6*<\/span> *<span class=\"champ-numero\">8*<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Sur ces photos, on observe la surface rid\u00e9e de l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur des fructifications portant les organes reproducteurs d\u2019o\u00f9 les spores sont \u00e9mises *<span class=\"champ-numero\">6*<\/span> *<span class=\"champ-numero\">7*<\/span>. L\u2019int\u00e9rieur des fructifications est constitu\u00e9 d\u2019une chair pleine *<span class=\"champ-numero\">8*<\/span>.
